Station Profile

KQTY first signed on the air as KHUZ on January 8, 1947. We are Borger's first radio station; and today, we are the only commercial radio station physically active in Borger and Hutchinson County.

KQTY operates 24-hours a day at 106.7 FM with 6000 watts of power and 24-hours a day at 1490 AM with 1000 watts of power.

KQTY 106.7 FM features "Today's Real Country Music" as one of Westwood One's 24-Hour Music Affiliates. Our Focused programing combines older Country Hits with newer songs by traditional-sounding Artists attracting a broad demographic of 35 to 64 year old listeners.

KQTY 1490 AM features 24-hour programming with radio personalities like: Doug Stephan, Herman Cain, Dana Loesch, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved, Chad Benson, Carry Brothers, Ron Seggi, Neil Mason, and Alex Jones (Weekend). Also there's Watchdog on Wall Street, The Real Side with Joe Messina, When Radio Was, Cyberline, Science Fantastic, Tech Nite Owl, Money Pit, Pet Talk, MomTalk, Life In The Groove, Life As You Own It, Intelligent Medicine, Classic Radio Theater and Mayo Clinic Radio.

Borger High School games are simulcast on 1490 AM and 106.7 FM. (George Grover calls the games and he's been doing it since 1980). On the weekends, there's Horsepower For An Hour, The Gun Owner's Hour, and Big Billy Kinder's Outdoors.

Local Talent
KQTY 106.7 FM features The Morning Show weekdays 6-10 am hosted by George Grover. It's the standard “Get Ya Goin'" family-friendly show listened to by almost everyone who is anybody in Hutchinson County. It also includes the “Klassifieds” 9-10 am weekdays “Our most listened-to hour!” The Texas Country Lunch Show with Joe Daniels airs weekdays from10 a.m. till noon featuring Country's next generation hit makers from across the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Catch great Sountern Gospel Music with Jerry Smith every Sunday from 6:20 to 10:35 a.m.
